Injured Eagle is Rescued in Apalachicola by FWC with Citizen Assistance
Video from a rescue of an Adult bald eagle found injured by the roadside just west of Apalachicola City limits. Apalachicola has been blessed with several active eagle nests every breeding season for some time now. It is feared that this eagle may be one of those nesting pairs. There is also speculation that this beautiful raptor may have been injured by a vehicle as it was scavenging carrion from the roadside. Adult bald eagles have been photographed in this vicinity before while they fed on deer carcasses carelessly discarded nearby. Normally, a large part of their diet is comprised of fish. IF YOU ENCOUNTER INJURED WILDLIFE, IMMEDIATELY CALL THE FWC WILDLIFE ALERT HOTLINE: 1-888-404-3922. This bird was transported by FWC to the Florida Wild Mammal Association Rehabilitation Center in Wakulla County for treatment of a probable broken wing and perhaps other injuries. If it is possible that it can be rehabilitated, then it will be released in this same area after it recuperates from its injuries.From:TheHalfShellViews:1 0ratingsTime:11:30More inNonprofits Activism
