Domino’s Pizza CEO: A shakeout is coming in the third-party food delivery space – Yahoo Finance

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:45 pm

Dominos Pizza (DPZ) CEO Richard Allison is delivering a flaming hot message right to the doorsteps of execs at third-party food delivery companies such as GrubHub and Uber Eats.

That cautionary message: at some point in the near future, you will have to run businesses that care about profits or else.

I think we will see some shake-out in the third-party [food delivery] space, Allison tells Yahoo Finance.

Delivery as a service that these third parties are offering [is] not sustainable in its current form, he continued. Look at what has happened to GrubHubs P&L [profit and loss statement] since they went from being an order aggregator to being a third-party delivery company. They have grown revenue very rapidly but their profit has declined to almost nothing. Uber Eats in the third quarter lost over $300 million in EBITDA [earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization] delivering food. DoorDash is private, but speculation is out there they could be losing close to half a billion dollars.

A spokesperson for DoorDash didnt return Yahoo Finances request for comment.

Others did chime in, however.

"While there are few barriers to entry in this industry, there are major barriers to creating a sustainable, profitable business, a GrubHub spokesperson told Yahoo Finance via email. Several of our peers have achieved national scale, but we are the only one that has grown without unsustainable shortcuts like incurring massive operating losses, offering irrational diner pricing, and giving drivers substantial subsidies. Instead, we have built our business recognizing that our value is helping independent restaurateurs reach new customers efficiently through our scale and expertise, while making all choices available to our diners when they want to order takeout.

Were proud of a business model that helps restaurants to use technology to increase sales, and hundreds of thousands of people to earn flexible income on their own time delivering food. Uber Eats is a young business, but a competitive one, and were optimistic about its future around the world, an Uber spokesperson said via email to Yahoo Finance.

But judging by the state of the third-party food delivery space entering 2020, Allisons call may be right on the mark.

GrubHub (GRUB) shocked Wall Street in late October with a sub-par third quarter and concerning outlook. The companys sales clocked in at $322 million versus analyst estimates for $330.5 million. Non-GAAP net earnings plunged to 27 cents a share in line with analyst forecasts from 45 cents a share a year ago. Growth rates in GrubHubs closely watched daily active grubs and gross food sales metrics continued to slow.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, GrubHubs non-GAAP net earnings have dropped to $77.5 million from $135.7 million a year earlier despite a 35% increase in sales. That dynamic surging sales and declining profits reflects the intense competitive environment in food delivery where gobs of money must be spent on advertising and incentives to keep diners engaged.

GrubHubs stock is down about 35% year to date.

The companys main response to the soft quarter is to ramp up incentives to diners even more, which is likely putting pressure on the entire industry to cap off 2019. It also plans to add more restaurants to its delivery network.

We will be moving quickly, spending more and trying many different strategies over the next 12-18 months to increase restaurant supply aggressively while making our diner experience more sticky effectively taking action to remove any reason for diners to look anywhere else, GrubHub founder and CEO Matt Maloney said in an October letter to shareholders.

Story continues

Nevertheless, Wall Street remains concerned about GrubHubs bottom line for the foreseeable future. Jefferies analyst Brent Thill says GrubHubs fourth-quarter sales growth guidance of about 13% would be by far the lowest in the companys history and a step down from 30% in the third quarter. GrubHubs fourth quarter EBITDA guidance implies a 6% margin, which Thill notes would also be a historic low.

GrubHubs initial 2020 EBITDA guidance of at least $100 million was markedly below Thills outlook of $180 million.

But hey, at least GrubHub is profitable and in business right? The same cant be said for rival Uber Eats (not profitable, but still in business) and countless others in the industry.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, Uber Eats (UBER) has lost a shocking $911 million on an adjusted EBITDA basis thats up from a $323 million loss a year ago. In its latest 10-Q filing, Uber highlights a range of issues with Uber Eats typical to the food delivery space and that are unlikely to abate anytime soon.

Eats adjusted EBITDA lossincreasedprimarily attributable to an increase in consumer promotions, brand marketing, and employee headcount costs, the filing says. Losses of that magnitude for Uber Eats points to a business that is in big-time trouble, and clearly not viable in its existing form.

Meanwhile,Amazon Restaurants closedfor good in June after making little headway in the food delivery space. Caviar couldnt hack it, so it sold out toDoorDashin August for $410 million (a wise call by Caviar in light of GrubHubs October commentary).

Waitr was told earlier this month by the Nasdaq it could be de-listed in January if it doesnt get its stock back above $1.00. The reason the stock has crashed 97% this year to 33 cents? You guessed it, a year of staggering losses to the tune of $270 million as the company struggled to stay competitive amid all the industry discounting.

Back in July or August I might have felt like this could go on for some indefinite period of time because there seemed to be particularly in the private market an appetite to drive growth with little regard to profitability, Allison says. I think theWeWork debacleand some other things going on out there the decline inshare prices for Uber and Lyft, PostMates IPO being stalled, the valuation of GrubHub has now come off I think there is less patience out there among investors today in December of 2019 than there was in July or August. But I dont know when the shakeout ultimately comes.

A spokesperson for PostMates didnt return a request for comment.

Uber Eats continues to loss massive amounts of money. REUTERS/Valentyn Ogirenko

Ultimately, a shakeout along the lines of what Allison predicts could take several forms.

One, the entire third-party food delivery space goes belly up under the weight of its own penchant for offering deep discounts on orders, heavy advertising and aggressive investment in tech. In turn, a large restaurant chain such as McDonalds could swoop in and buy a major delivery player on the cheap and gain access to a turnkey operation.

Another version of an industry shakeout could see a well-established player such as GrubHub continue to buy up smaller rivals to gain the required economies of scale to be a viable business longer term. GrubHub has taken on the role of consolidator thus far it has acquired nine food delivery platforms since 2013, including Seamless and Eat24.

Or a slight twist on this version may see GrubHub merging with Uber Eats, becoming its own stand-alone entity. Uber would therefore primarily be a ride-hailing/transport company, which it could make money on.

Of course Allison who assumed the CEO role in July 2018 after leading Dominos international business is coming at the food delivery topic from the view of a powerhouse franchise in Dominos. The pizza chain for decades dominated the delivery space with its formidable fleet of drivers and mobile ordering technology.

But as fast-food delivery has become ubiquitous thanks to third-party delivery services, Dominos once mind-blowing quarterly sales gains have slowed. So too has the stock price shares are up 17% over the past year, trailing the S&P 500s 30% gains. Should Allisons third-party delivery industry shakeout happen, Dominos would stand to benefit immensely as the companies scramble to consolidate and even stay in business.

While Allison has been one of the most vocal critics in the restaurant industry of the tactics used by the aggregators as they are often called he isnt letting the issue consume his time as CEO.

As I think about Dominos Pizza, we have got to stay focused on the things we can control that will allow us to be successful regardless of when or how that shakeout occurs. So that means keeping our system and our franchisees focused on value, meaning we remain a very affordable way to feed your family tonight. We are that today, and we are very aggressively planning to compete in the future. We have got to be even better on being on time with delivery. We need to be even better in the years to come, we have an extensive set of initiatives underway to continue to improve service in our business, Allison says.

Tom Brady on loss to Dolphins: ‘We had plays that I should make. And I didn’t make them’ – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

TheNew England Patriots stunned many when they lost to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the first time since the 2006 regular season that the Patriots lost at home to the Dolphins.

It also knocked the Patriots from the No. 2 seed in the AFC, meaning theyllplay on wild-card weekendfor the first time since 2009. Theyll host theTennessee Titanson Saturday night.

On Monday,Tom Bradylaid a lot of the blame on himself for the Patriots struggles.

Sleepless night: Tom Brady said he tossed and turned Sunday night after the Patriots' loss to the Dolphins. (Adam Glanzman/Getty Images)

Making his weekly appearance on WEEI radio,Brady said, Yesterday, we had plays, I certainly did, that I should make. And I didn't make them. That's why you lose games.

Without the luxury of a bye week to focus on their areas of improvement, Brady expects everyone to be locked in.

This week, it has to be more concentration, focus, determination, attitude. Everything has to be at its top, top, top this week, he said. We have to get to a great place where we're confident, trusting, and going out there and executing at our highest level. We can certainly execute a lot better than we did yesterday.

Brady was 16-of-29 for 221 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, his first pick-6 in two years.

We had too many unforced errors, things that Miami didn't even have to do to stop us. I think that's when you know you're disappointed in the way you played, he explained. It's just self-inflicted errors. I give them all the credit for winning, but there's things we did that we shouldn't do. We have to tighten those things up, he said.

Though he was spotted shaking out his right arm on the sideline, the quarterback insisted hes healthy.

I don't have any problems. I have no injuries. I've said it a lot. I feel good. There is no injury. No nothing. I wish I would have played better, and that's about it, Brady said.

But the 42-year-old, who maintains his body and health religiously, was a little tired by morning.

Just tossing and turning. Not much sleep, he said. You just have a lot of emotion after the game. You hate to have nights like that, but you have to do something to change them. It's important for us to just realize our goals are ahead of us. We have to go out there and try to have our best week and figure out how to win a game.

Brady is currently slated to be a free agent, so this could be his last home game at Gillette Stadium.

China-based NIO’s shares skyrocket as the Tesla rival beats investor expectations – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

Shares of NIO, a China-based electric car manufacturer, are soaring this morning after the company's Q3 2019 earnings beat investor expectations. NIO's surprise win comes directly on the heels of Tesla, a competitor, announcing the delivery of its first cars made in China, NIO's home market.

NIO went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018 for $6.26 per share. Its value has plunged as a public company, seeing its per-share price fall to as little as $1.19. Today, after its earnings report, NIO shares are up more than $1 apiece, to $3.47 per share as of the time of writing. That new price represents a gain of a touch less than 44% in today's trading.

NIO managed to beat both revenue and profit expectations in the quarter. And, the company's forecast for its next quarter's car deliveries show a sharp rise in automotive deliveries.

According to Yahoo Finance, investors expected NIO to lose $0.34 per share in Q3 on an adjusted basis off revenue of $230.8 million. In fact, NIO reported $257.0 million in revenue leading to an adjusted $0.33 per share loss. NIO managed a top-and-bottom beat while growing its total revenues by 21.8% compared to the sequentially preceding quarter, and 25% compared to the year-ago period.

While NIO did beat expectations, it remains a company deep in its investment cycle. That's a polite way of saying that it loses lots of money. For example, in its most recent quarter, NIO's gross margin on selling automobiles came to -6.8%. That was a bit worse than its year-ago result of -4.3%, if better than what it managed earlier in Q2 2019.

NIO's core business can't even cover its cost of revenues, let alone the operating costs of the rest of the company. This means that the company is consuming cash, putting an end date on its ability to operate without more cash.

As NIO put it in its earnings letter (emphasis: TechCrunch):

The Company operates with continuous loss and negative equity. The Companys cash balance is not adequate to provide the required working capital and liquidity for continuous operation in the next 12 months. The Companys continuous operation, which has also constituted the basis of preparing the Companys third quarter unaudited financial information, depends on the Companys capability to obtain sufficient external equity or debt financing. The Company is currently working on several financing projects, the consummation of which is subject to certain uncertainties. The Company will announce any material developments or information subject to the requirements by applicable laws.

So, NIO needs more money. Luckily for it, with a newly risen share price the firm has a better shot at selling more of itself to raise the capital it needs to stay in business and grow.

And grow it intends, with a written expectation of delivering "over 8,000" vehicles in Q4 2019, which it notes is about two-thirds more than it managed in Q3 2019; so NIO is telling investors that its revenue will be sharply higher in the current period than it was in the preceding three-month period.

All good news for NIO, even if Musk and company are breathing down its neck. And good news for the 2018 IPO class.

Sickly rescue cat breaks the internet with unusual ears: ‘Looks like she was assembled wrong’ – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

A rescued cat is warming hearts across the internet after going viral for its striking resemblance to one of 2019's most memorable characters.

Simply dubbed, "Baby Yoda Cat," the tiny feline has earned an outpouring of support and hundreds of adoption requests after drawing comparisons to Baby Yoda, the breakout character from the new Disney+ TV series, "The Mandalorian."

The cat, which was found in Kannapolis, N.C., earlier this month, had a variety of health issues when it was brought into the Cabarrus Animal Hospital, the New York Post reported. It was suffering from hair loss, respiratory infection, intestinal parasites and a deep wound around its neck.

Its unclear how Baby Yoda Cat received the injuries and became so sickly, but the animal is now recovering in its temporary home. Jana Aviles, aveterinarian assistant at the animal hospitaltook the now-famous feline in while it awaits a forever home.

In the meantime, the cat is becoming a viral phenomenon. Baby Yoda Cat evenhas its own Facebook page, complete with adorable photos and updates on the animals journey.

The newfound fame has led to plenty of love for the kitten which seems to be mainly compared to Baby Yoda for its unusual ear shape andwide, innocent-looking face. Many social media users seemed charmed by the comparison between the cat and Baby Yoda, a character that is almostscientifically designedto be adorable.

"I believe this little Jedi will have no problem finding an appropriate and loving home,"one Facebook commenter wrote on the felines Facebook page. "My only wish is that the selection criteria also include a requirement that her new parents be educated on the Star Wars Universe."

"Oh my. Looks like she was assembled wrong ! Love her tho,"another added.

Some, however, disagreed with the comparison, instead suggesting that Baby Yoda Catactually looked more like Dobby, the mischevious, big-eared elf from the "Harry Potter"series. Either way, many were outraged that someone would harm such a small animal.

"I dont understand who would hurt this sweet baby,"one Facebook commenter wrote.

"I have never wanted a cat so badly," another added, joining the hordes of social media users asking to adopt Baby Yoda Cat.

Baby Yoda Cat iscurrently available for adoptionthrough the Humane Society of Rowan County. The organization charges $50 per adoption, which is a small fee when considering you may be getting a Jedi master in the making.

Why You Should Break Up With Your Scale In 2020 – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

Nutritionist Jessica Sepel knows what to blend together for the perfect recipe. Curry powder and sesame seeds? Bring it on. Tamari and chili flakes? Hell yeah. She also knows two things that dont mix well: Nutrition and numbers.

I honestly used to be an extreme dieter, Sepel shares. She soon discovered, however, that counting calories and carbohydrates and watching the numbers on a scale fluctuate wasnt helpful. Giving up my scale actually gave me so much freedom, she says. You know, like constantly weighing myself and letting it determine my self-worth. It was so unhealthy.

Sepels realization is backed by science. A journal review on various studies examining the practice of regularly weighing yourself found a negative relationship between the habit and self-esteem. Plus, various research indicates that there are better ways to measure health than body weight. In 2013, the Journal of the American Medical Association published an article calling into question BMIs ability to predict mortality. Research shows that your behaviors can also predict general health, so it can be better to focus on lifestyle rather than a figures.

Still, Sepel knows getting out of the numbers game might take some time, so she suggests a gradual approach. You dont have to throw out your scale right away. But if youre considering weighing yourself (or engaging in the equally numbers-focused and frustrating practice of counting calories), think about being kind to yourself instead, she suggests. You can also do something to reconnect to your body in a healthy way instead of climbing on top of the scale do some stretching, go for a walk, get in a workout. There are also plenty of meal-time hacks you can apply to better enjoy and appreciate what youre eating.

Sepel, for example, always shuns screens when she eats. Thats my biggest rule, phones are nowhere near my eating I think food is such a beautiful way to connect to loved ones. My husband and I just sit down at night and we eat a meal together and we just love it. Food is here to be enjoyed. Amen.

Sepels approach to food is all about eating healthy while being balanced. Her recipes are nutrient-packed, but not flavorless and are easy to make even if youre no Julia Child. She also encourages treating yourself every now and again and not beating yourself up if again happens sooner than you anticipated (her favorite dessert is hazelnut gelato).

As corny as it sounds, perfect should not be the goal in any way, she says. The healthy life does not mean the perfect life, and perfect doesnt exist, anyway.

Thats important, especially this time of year when many of us are resolving to eat better in 2020. Despite our good intentions, a Strava analysis of over 800 million activities predicted that most people will give up on their 2020 fitness resolutions by January 19, and a University of Scranton study found that just 8% of people actually achieve their New Years goals. Sepels anti-diet, non-restrictive approach wont make you feel overwhelmed (or disgusted by all the kale youre supposed to eat). It works long-term.

We asked Sepel to provide us with 30 days of nutrient-packed recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner thatll help you start 2020 on a delicious note, not one filled with deprivation. So check back here on Jan. 1 for Week 1 of her meal plan we promise that with Sepels program, youll be much more likely to stick to your healthy New Years resolutions past the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve.

All the White Outfits in Nancy Meyers Movies, Ranked – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

It is an indisputable fact that there is nothing as soothing to the cerebral cortex as a Nancy Meyers movie. The arguable queen of the romantic comedy (okay, fine, she shares the title with Nora Ephron) knows how to set a scene, stacking her shots with sweeping landscapes, exquisite kitchens, and of course, a tantalizing array of cream outfits.

Nancy Meyerss movies arent all holiday-themed (except for, uh, The Holiday), but even the ones set in the middle of a sweltering Hamptons summer somehow invoke a sense of coziness, perhaps because of her female protagonists predictable color patterns. Meyers women wear white with aplomb, refusing to adhere to the arbitrary not after Labor Day rule; they pair beige khakis with ivory cardigans to show that theyre responsible, rigid, maybe a little stuck in the mud, and just need a whirlwind romance to make them burst into color. Below, find an official power ranking of Meyers heroines all-white outfits, and let it inspire you to impulse-buy those ivory trousers you bookmarked weeks ago.

Okay, fine, this one is kind of a cheat, but when I was a kid, I thought Annies traditional white wedding dress and veil were the height of sophistication and class. (Now, of course, all I want is my very own wedding cape.)

There isnt a late-90s child of divorce out there who doesnt remember The Parent Traps Meredith Blake, the evil stepmother, with a mixture of fear and awe. Her white dress may look sweet and demure, but dont be fooled; shes just waiting to ship you off to boarding school in Timbuktu.

What says icy-hearted L.A. girl repairing to the English countryside for coziness, solace, and an affair with Jude Law better than an ivory cashmere turtleneck? Lose the gloves and hat, and this look can go from the Grove to the ski chalet with ease.

Does this movie about Jack Nicholson successfully seducing a young woman and her mother in turn hold up in the #MeToo era? No, not really, but Diane Keatons outfits certainly do. At one point, she proclaims herself a turtleneck kind of gal, proving once and for all that Successions Shiv Roy wants what Keaton has always had.

Its not complicated how much I love this outfit. (Hello, Pulitzer board, and thank you for considering me.) Streeps character Jane is a chef and restaurant owner, yet she frequently appears in all-white outfits that make it clear shes capable of whipping up a spaghetti bolognese for her distinguished lover without spilling a drop. Its hard to know which detail of this look is the greatest: the gauzy scarf, the tunic, or the pantswhich are out of frame, but trust me when I say theyre as white as snow.

5 Signs of a Healthy Relationship, According to Psychologists – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

Most of us have become so exhausted by the modern dating world that the signs of a healthy relationship probably dont even cross your mind when coupling up. When a person comes along whose interests are the same, listens to you, and doesnt mess up your Netflix recommendations, thats good enough to call a relationship, right?

Take a beat: not all relationships are created equal. Before you jump off the diving board and into the pool of coupledom, first look for and evaluate the five signs of a healthy relationship according to the experts:

Okay we all want to be respected in our relationships but what exactly does that mean? According to clinical psychologist Franklin A. Porter, Ph.D. real respect occurs when, your partner understands and accepts that you are, first and foremost, a unique individual. You have interests, needs, and life experiences that are separate from your partners.

You dont have to have everything in common to have a healthy relationshipbut you do need to respect each other enough to work together when your personalities or backgrounds conflict.

This one might seem obvious, but its notthe definition of trust in a relationship is always changing. There are many situations which might spark temptations, jealousy or insecurity for partners, says Sari Cooper, AASECT certified sex therapist and the director of Center for Love and Sex. Instead of dismissing concerns that a partner raises, its helpful for each partner to pro-actively reassure one another with compassion rather than dismissiveness.

She encourages couples she works with to frequently reassure one another that theyre committed to the relationship. This is a bit different than when you trust a partner to keep their word, she says.

Listening is just as important in a relationship as talkingand as compromising, especially when you feel particularly strongly that youre right, says Porter.

Its critical that both partners feel heard and understood first before they can move on to negotiating a compromise and or making a decision, says Cooper. Use deep breathing and grounding exercises to witness, reflect and empathize with your partner before expressing your own emotional reaction.

This is a tough one, and not just for the obvious reasons (fickle libido, anyone?). Its important to note that some couples or partners dont set sexuality as a priority for a partnership, Cooper notes. However, if they do, its also important that, theyre able to talk freely about their desires without fear of shaming, dismissive or disgusted reactions from their partner in response.

This can include kink, fantasy, or monogamy vs polyamory. For most couples, there are implicit expectations of sexual exclusivity when they partner or marry, says Cooper. The discussion of consensual non-monogamy or polyamory often comes up early on in a relationship as each individual has already identified with this lifestyle or has spent time doing reflective work on what they desire.

Regardless, its an important talk to have, along with respect and understanding of, whatever form your sex life might take and at whatever frequency, says Porter.

Maybe you give your partner feedback on a run-through of their upcoming work presentation and they help you pot your geraniums even though they hate getting their hands dirty. Then, you go to the park because its their happy place even though yours is the movies. While division of labor is necessary and inevitable, working (and playing) together improves relationships, says Porter. In a healthy relationship, you feel your partner is also a great friend who enjoys sharing myriad life experiences with you, both the mundane and the exciting.

Jennifer Lopez Just Wore the Accessory Trend That Refuses to Die – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

2019 has undoubtedly beenJennifer Lopez's year. The superstargot engaged to A-Rod, turned 50, and starred in the critically acclaimed Hustlers, just to name a few of her milestones. And as you know, she's served up countless wildly stylish outfits, and she's still at it, wearing one of her last looks before we embark on a new decade.

Yesterday in Beverly Hills, Lopez traded the bright colors she often wears for a subdued all-black outfit consisting of a turtleneck, wool coat, leather trousers, and her favorite white Alexander McQueen sneakers. But we're here to talk about the statement accessory that she wore with the look: a designer logo belt (a Chanel designer logo belt, that is).

Logo belts have been trending hard ever since the Gucci belt crazebegan a few years ago, and J.Lo just proved that the trend has stood the test of time, as she looks as forward as even in her Chanel belt. It's also worth noting that designer brands continue to make new logo belts each season, so people are clearly still buying them. The verdict? Hang onto your logo belts for 2020 (and probably beyond), and don't be afraid to add a new one to your collection if you love them.

Nicole Kidman Wore Her Natural Hair Texture on Vacation for the Holidays – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

It's not every day that we see Nicole Kidman wear her hair in its naturally curly state. Most of the time, the Bombshell actress has it styled sleek and straight or woven into bouncy waves for the red carpet. She's also a known fan of wearing wigs and does so often in her films. This past week, though, the 52-year-old star skipped the heat styling and extensions and embraced her natural curls while on vacation for the holidays. And of course, fans ourselves included are loving it.

Kidman's curly hair look was shared on Instagram in an adorable snapshot taken by her husband and country singer, Keith Urban, who spent the holidays with her in Sydney, Australia. The photo features Urban kissing Kidman sweetly in front of a beautiful backdrop of the city. As expected, countless fans are commenting about how cute the couple is (Urban and Kidman have been married since 2006 and have two children), but that's not all they're gushing over. Quite a few fans commented on Kidman's natural hair texture, too, leaving messages like: "Aww I love Nicoles natural curly frizzy hair! Its just like mine," and "Love the beachy waves she's so lucky."

Additionally, some people are mentioning how much they love the "rawness" of the photo and are likely referring to the fact that the image appears to be completely unfiltered. From what we can tell, Kidman is also wearing very minimal makeup, too. Ah, the beauty of being on vacation. No makeup, no hair products no problem.

Needless to say, we're living for this naturally curly look on Kidman and hope she continues to wear it like this down the line.

Jon Favreau Confirms That ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Is Coming in 2020 – Yahoo Lifestyle

Posted: December 30, 2019 at 6:43 pm

Just hours after the first season finale ofThe Mandalorianhit Disney+, creator, head writer, and showrunner Jon Favreau confirmed what we all suspected: a second season of the hit Star Wars show is on the way.

The show, which takes place after the events ofThe Return of the Jedi and before the rise of the First Order, was the marquee original title available when Disney+ launched last month. Its proved to be a huge success, with positive reviews and the cultural phenomenon that is Baby Yoda.

Favreau said that he was already hard at work on season 2 on the red carpet for the season one premiere, but in his tweet, Favreau for the first time offered a timeline for the shows return.

Interestingly, Favreau also included a picture of what looks like a model of a Gamorrean, part of a race last seen guarding Jabba the Hutts palace on Tattooine inReturn of the Jedi. It seems like a pretty safe bet that in his adventures next season, namely his mission to return Baby Yoda to its species, The Mandalorian might run into a Gamorrean or two.

The first season of the show shed light on corners of the galaxy we hadnt really seen before: the inner workings of the bounty hunters guild, the farmers of the forest planet Sorgan, and the story of the Mandalorians beyond Jango and Boba Fett.

Heres hoping the second season is just as adventurous.
